A trio of bad news:

Sudan seeking to exploit oil in Darfur. Echoes of Abyei.

Security source: Al-Qaeda heading to Sudan and Somalia from Iraq.

Lawyer arrested for providing a defense for accused rebels.

What with these stories and other rumours, that I cannot post, Darfur (and the wider Sudan) is, by most accounts, worse than ever.

The next predictable flash-point will be the release of the International Criminal Court (ICC) indictment related to Darfur. Senior officials are nervous.
